Hi Reader, I'm excited to share that Passage of the Day just got a big upgrade! Justin and Anders are joining me in writing these emails! Meet Justin GerberJustin lives in Clarkston, Georgia, with his wife and two-year-old son. We met at church shortly after I moved to Atlanta, and I’ve been grateful for his hospitality, his pursuit of God in fatherhood, and our friendship as accountability partners. He enjoys soccer, ultimate frisbee, reading, woodworking, and the outdoors. And a fun fact: he used to work for an IT company that mostly served Amish customers. Meet Anders AlmbergAnders lives in Iowa City with his wife and daughter and serves as a ministry leader with The Salt Company at the University of Iowa. He loves running, good coffee, fellowship, and training to teach God’s Word. He’s a longtime believer and a Barnabas—the most encouraging person I’ve ever met. What you can expectWith Justin and Anders contributing, the email devotionals will be more intentional. They’ll be encouraging, exhorting, with a good mix of story and trivia. Our mission is to give you a fun-sized bit of momentum focused on God’s Word. God is big. We follow a big God. Marked off the heavens…weighed the mountains in scales… Who taught him the path of justice? What man shows him his counsel? These are grand examples of how vast and infinite YHWH is. He shows his glory through his entire creation and is sovereign over it all. Nothing happens beyond his knowledge or will.
And yet… David writes in Psalm 8, ‘What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?’ Like Isaiah, David is reflecting on the vastness of the God we serve. Despite God having the entire universe in his hands and perceiving all mysteries, he stoops down and makes sure that his people are taken care of. Jehovah Jireh, the God who Provides is not removed from our lives. He is living and active, just waiting for each one of us to accept his daily invitations to bring his Kingdom more fully onto this earth. What an honor.
I’d love for you to join us for Passage of the Day!

Type the Word Christian schools replace generic typing lessons with Scripture-based practice helping their students become confident typists with deep knowledge of the Bible.
Hello Reader! Type the Word’s typing curriculum just got a sweet upgrade that I'm excited to share! As I’ve been chatting with y’all these past few weeks at conferences, I’ve realized the question isn’t always “How do I teach my students to type?” Often, it’s “How do I help them unlearn the hunting and pecking they’ve picked up on an iPad?” Students may know where the letters are without knowing how to move their hands around a keyboard. They need more than a passage to practice—they need...
Hi Reader, For a long time, I’ve made Bible memory cards by hand, with the full passage on one side and first-letter prompts on the other. Something like this: My Bible Memory Pocket Notebook A few months ago, a friend suggested a tool to generate them. Today I'm happy to share that you can now generate cards like this one for free for your classroom. Side 1 Print memory cards for your class The new Bible memory card generator lets you choose any verse in the Bible, select from most major...
Hi Reader, I’ve been reading Make It Stick, and it’s changing how I think about tests. They’re not just a way to find out what you know. They can help you learn what you don’t. One of the biggest points of the book is that it’s easy to think you understand something, but testing helps you see whether you actually do. The insight I’ve taken from it is that testing can also help form long-term memory—not just reveal what you missed, but help you learn it. That’s why I’m excited that you can now...
