Hi Reader, Thanksgiving break is coming up, and I wanted to share a fun way to lead your students into the season: three new Scripture typing plans focused on gratitude. Each plan includes five passages your students can type and reflect on:
I hope these give your class a meaningful way to practice typing and spend time in God’s Word as you head into Thanksgiving break. You can assign one of these plans by creating a new Goal: Or you can create a single assignment for Thanksgiving using the “From Curriculum” option as well: A quicker way to publish assignmentsI’ve also made it shorter and easier to publish assignments—you no longer have to go through the "..." menu and instead you can do this right on the table itself. One more little update: you can now expand each curriculum item to preview the curriculum and the Scripture it includes. My hope is that this makes it easier to decide if a curriculum is right for your classroom I’m planning to bring that preview anywhere you can assign Scripture very soon! If you try one of the Thanksgiving plans with your class, let me know how it goes! In Christ, P.S. For more behind-the-scenes updates, follow Type the Word on Instagram or Facebook, we've started to be a lot more active on these platforms! |

Type the Word now has highlighting and my hope is that it will allow you to do those same things with the scripture you type, highlighting what’s impactful, so you can remind yourself of it,...
Hi Reader, I’ve recently been reading Peak, a book about the science of getting really great at something. One of my takeaways is that getting better takes focus—and it helps to actually want to improve. Part of my strategy for helping students want to grow as typists is to make their practice meaningful by having them type through the Bible. But a little friendly competition can also help motivate students to keep practicing. That’s why I’m excited to share a new feature: classroom...
Hi Reader, I'm excited to share that Passage of the Day just got a big upgrade! Justin and Anders are joining me in writing these emails! Meet Justin Gerber Justin lives in Clarkston, Georgia, with his wife and two-year-old son. We met at church shortly after I moved to Atlanta, and I’ve been grateful for his hospitality, his pursuit of God in fatherhood, and our friendship as accountability partners. He enjoys soccer, ultimate frisbee, reading, woodworking, and the outdoors. And a fun fact:...
