In each of the past two months, we've typed the Bible in aggregate 2x per month with 70k verses typed in January and 71k typed in February. Over 600 new people have signed up to try TTW!
Praise the Lord. I'm humbled by how many people have found TTW, and so happy to see people meditating on God's word.
New Translations
For a long time TTW has only supported ESV, but starting in December I integrated with api.bible to support many more translations. Reviewing the accuracy of new translations has been a community effort, and I'm happy to share that the new translations are now stable. Thank you Justin, Smeagol, and joep36 from the Discord for all your Bible review help.
Using the translation you enjoy is important, and I'm super happy TTW has more translations now. There are already many days that ESV isn't the main translation being used. Here is what the distribution has been looking like:

I'm excited to support even more translations in the future.
If you notice a specific passage rendering incorrectly in TTW, please let me know. My intention is to be as true to the publisher's formatting as possible. I'd also love your input on how translations are integrated into the product, don't hesitate to reach out and share your thoughts.
In December, I talked about creating a Google classroom integration for Christian schools, this is where the majority of my time in January and February went to. And now, with the help of some generous people, Type the word trials are being run in two different Christian schools.
With this integration, teachers can create Google Classroom assignments for students to type through specific passages of scripture. These assignments automatically show up within Google classroom for the students, and redirect students to TTW where they can type through the assigned passage. When the assignment is completed it's then automatically submitted, and teachers get visibility into how students are progressing over time.
At this point, It'd be great to get even more user feedback on this integration. I'd love to have 8 to 10 more schools be apart of demo'ing the TTW Google Classroom integration. Do you know a teacher or administrator at a Christian school, and would you be willing to connect me with them?
If so, I'd love an intro over email. My email is josh@typetheword.site. I can take care of introducing myself, the idea, and coordinating a video call with them. Just having the intro email would be a blessing.
WPM / Accuracy Stats (Beta)
Words-per-minute and accuracy are still in beta. Seth, a friend of mine (@splocker in the Discord), is working on this feature now, so if you have thoughts feel free to @ him in the Discord. I'll share more updates as he makes progress!
What's next?
One of the schools demo'ing TTW now is requesting support for typing the same scripture repeatedly, which in my mind would be a great way to support scripture memory. I think this kind of thing is long overdue, so I'm hoping to build something out in the coming months.
Additionally, while Type the Word remembers the last place you typed, it can be annoying when your "last typed location" is overwritten. I'd like to create a plans feature for managing multiple typing locations.
If you have ideas for these two features please reach out and share them. I would love to hear your ideas!
2 And you were dead in the trespasses and sinsin which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 4But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.
Those are great words. We were messed up. We were in need. We were separated. We deserved nothing. We were dead. We were alienated. But God!
I've been meditating on this scripture remembering my lack of merit and the abundance of blessing I've received in Christ. Take a second. Remember who you were. Remember what Christ has done for you.
DECEMBER 2025 Type the Word Hi Reader, I've been working hard on TTW, so this is a longer update, but there are lots of exciting things to share!
