Type the Word

Hey Reader,

Hope your year is going well so far! Last month I was shocked to see 52 people signed up, and this month was even crazier with 121 people signing up. We also passed the mark of 1000 verses being typed per day on average with just over 28k verses typed in February. Praise God!

February Updates

Reagan’s Roundup

TTW was shared in Reagan's Roundup, a newsletter about Christianity and productivity. I had actually never heard of this newsletter, but seeing as I'm interested in the two topics I'll be checking it out. Here is the post referencing TTW.

Fixes

  • Fixed a visual bug in the "Overview" section within `/history` where your book progression wasn't aligned to the right on mobile or safari.
  • Fixed a bug where your the "Log" section within `/history`was being calculated based on the server's timezone. This was misleading because sometimes your typed verses would show up in the next or previous day.
  • Fixed a bug where only the first verse in Jude was being loaded preventing you from typing the chapter.

A scripture I have been thinking about

7 “Hear, O my people, and I will speak;
O Israel, I will testify against you.
I am God, your God.

your burnt offerings are continually before me.

​‭‭Psalm‬ ‭50‬:‭7‬-‭10‬, ‭14‬, ‭23‬​

I was struck by this scripture this month. The "orders his way rightly" reminded me of Ecclesiastes 12:13-14​

13 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.

But a call for us to give thanks was something I hadn't realized was commanded.

I'm thankful God,

  • that you have given me your words to treasure.
  • that you have brought more people than I imagined to use TTW.
  • that despite the futility I feel in much of life you have given me something meaningful in this project.
  • that you have encouraged me with the discipline of your people seeking your word.
  • that you are renewing this broken world and my brokenness.
  • that this world is not my home.

We have hope for a future untainted by the brokenness of this world!

I'm praying that God speaks to you through His word and fills you with thanksgiving this March.
